| Activated | This switch is controllable by the GetCarted admin team and is used if a site is behaving illegally or comsuming excessive bandwidth. By default this is set to YES. |
| Active Orders | The Active Orders list displays orders which are currently being processed. An order will remain in this list until its status has changed to a final one. It will then be moved to the Archived orders list. |
| Add new currency | The merchant can add another currency and specify an exchange rate for display. |
| Add to Cart method | This allows the merchant to decide which method to use in the HTML link when products are added to cart. ID and URL allows all the product data to be passed in the link ID only forces the merchant to create the product first in the product manager and then reference it only by ID (More secure) |
| Added duplicate behaviour | This variable decides whether items replace existing items in the cart or items added to cart increase the quantity of existing items. |
| Additional mailing list | This allows a merchant to add emails addresses captured outside the GetCarted system for inclusion in a marketing email. |
| After products are added | Defines what page the user sees after items are added to cart. |
| Archived Orders | This list displays orders which have been completed. |
| Bandwidth | This is the amount of data which is transferred from a server to users viewing websites on it. The more bandwidth a server uses, the higher the charges. To reflect this, GetCarted charges its customers in terms of bandwidth. This stops resource consuming sites paying the same as small ones and creates a fair billing model. | Content Management | This merchant admin section deals with products and categories, generating HTML to use for creating 'add to cart' links and importing and exporting products. |
| Currencies Management | This section allows the merchant to set which currency the shop's default currency is and other options. |
| Current plan | The current GetCarted plan that this shop is using. |
| Date format | Choose which format you wish to display your dates in. --Server-- will display dates in the MySQL native format. |
| Default location | This is main location in which the shop trades to. If set, then by default the default location will appear in the country drop down lists when a customer places an order. |
| Deleted Orders | This list contains any orders which have been deleted by the merchant. |
| Disable remember me | This stops customers from having the option to have their details saved in a cookie on their local computer. When disabled, the tick box does not show. |
| Disable seperate delivery address | This stops customers specifying a seperate delivery address. This can be used by merchants wishing to lower risk of shipping items. |
| Dispatcher / Dropshipper | These lists can be used for orders with a custom status like 'Ready to Send'. The dropshipper and dispatcher areas can be setup so that users with limited priviliges can see them when they log in. Such users would not be able to see payment details and only see this info for the purpose of dispatching products. |
| Enable Shop | This global switches the online shop on and off. It is also responsible for the Enabled by Admin item in the summary page. This switch can be edited in Shop Settings | General Settings |
| Enabled by admin | This switch allows each merchant to enable or disable their GetCarted online shop. |
| Export products to a file | This feature allows users to export their products for use in other programs or systems. Current options include Export to CSV, XML and Froogle. |
| Font (Formatting Parameters) | This variable is responsible for the main text on the cart pages. You can change the font, colour and variant such as bold, italic etc. |
| Formatting Parameters | These parameters form the building blocks of the cart pages. You can edit text size, colour, backgrounds and layout in this section. |
| General settings | Module reponsible for many global settings and switches to control aspects of your GetCarted shop. |
| HTML | Hypertext markup language - HTML is the language that websites are mainly displayed in. It is used in GetCarted when products are added to the cart using the simple method. An HTML hyperlink is added which adds the required products to the cart. |
| HTML Code Generator | This useful tool allow the merchant to enter all the information relating to with a product or a product code. A link is instantly then created to add that product to the cart. Methods available are simple link, or form. |
| Hyperlink | The bit of code in HTML which put simply, allows a user to move from one page or item, to another. It is used extensively in GetCarted in the simple method of integration. A simple add to cart link (hyperlink) is used to add an item to the shopping cart. | Import products from file | This allows a file containing products in the csv format to be uploaded to the product manager. Fields can be mapped accordingly. |
| Inactive Countries | Countries which cannot place orders on the online shop. |
| Integration | The method in which your website connects to the GetCarted system. GetCarted supports 2 options. The first simple method allows you to add items into the GetCarted shopping cart by using a hyperlink. The resulting pages can of course be customised within the merchant login area retaining your sites brand. The second more complex method of integration is the Shop Generator integration. This allows your own domain to forward to the GetCarted system which will provide you with a complete website with your own additional pages as well as the cart, checkout, payment pages. |
| Location Management | This section is responsible for the settings of the shipping locations, which locations the shop will sell to and the default location. |
| Look and Feel | This section of the website deals with how the Shop Generator shop or customised cart pages will look when the merchants website connects to the GetCarted system. |
| Manage regions | This allows merchants to specify regions within a country. Seperate shipping can be specified for each region. |
| Manual Swipe | This payment method simply captures the card details of the customer and holds them securely for the merchant to process manually. This is suitable for merchant who have a PDQ machine. Please note in the interests of preventing fraud and protecting consumers, this method by default is disabled by GetCarted admin. To enable it, we require the merchant to send a scan of their passport (name must match name of card used to pay for the account) and a copy of a utility bill (address must match billing details on the account). This is to stop fraudsters using the system to harvest card details. |
| Marketing | This module in the merchant admin area allows the merchant to send marketing emails to customers who have placed an order. |
| Marketing emails (Marketing Section) | This page allows a merchant to easily create attractive formatted and customised emails to send to customers who have purchased products. Custom fields can be used to send personalised emails. |
| Marketing emails log | A log kept of the marketing emails sent. |
| Maximum allowed quantity specified in URL | The maximum quantity of a product that can be specified in the URL |
| Merchant Confimation emails | These variables form the TO and FROM addresses for the confirmation emails the merchant receives. The FROM address can be anything but is normally from the domain the shop is operating under. The TO address is the merchants email address. When this is set, the merchant will receive a copy of any email sent to a customer. |
| Minimum allowed quantity specified in URL | The lowest quantity of an item which can be sent in the URL. A value of 0 is disabled. |
| New Orders | When an order is initally submitted, its order status is set by the server. Orders which have been submitted before an action has taken place upon them are available in this list. |
| No payment | Confusingly, no payment allows the customer to place an order without entering any payment details. This is useful if product shipping and pricing cannot be calculated easily and a quote is needed. If this method is used, the customer is informed that the merchant will contact them shortly. |
| Orders | This site subsection is the parent section for all order lists. |
| Organization | This is the name of the merchant that was entered upon signup. It does not appear on any pages or parts of the site and is for our billing purposes only. |
| Package | When registered for the GetCarted system, for each shop you run under your account, you need to choose a package. Packages are specific to the type of integration you choose and the amount of usage your site has. At present we offer Bronze and Silver packages for Simple Integration, high and low usage and Gold and Platinum packages for Shop Generator Integration, high and low usage respectively. You can change package at any time, once in a monthly billing cycle. |
| Password | The password associated with each username used to login into the GetCarted system. Choose a password only you can remember and do not share your password with anyone. Change your password regularly and choose one with a mix of upper and lowercase letters and numbers. Avoid obvious patterns like 1234 etc. |
| Payment Gateway | When taking online payments, an intermediary is usually needed to go between the bank and the website. The payment gateway processes the payments on behalf of the bank, processes them, resulting in the funds arriving in the merchant account. GetCarted will automatically integrate into most common payment gateways and we will add one at your request. Our payment gateway of choice is Secpay (http://www.secpay.com) |
| Payment Types | This section enables the merchant to specify how they wish to take payment. Secure capture manual swipe simply catches the card details where as other options allow the customer to link straight into payment gateways, banks and paypal. |
| Product Editor Mode | This selectable decides which interface the merchant uses when entering products into the product manager. Simple text is self explanitory. Simple HTML is the ability to paste HTML in to the fields and HTML editor is a full webpage creator (usable for the product layout etc). |
| Product Manager | The product manager is a module which allows the merchant to create and edit products they wish to sell. Optional in the simple integration method it allows a simpler and more secure add to cart link by simply using a product code. In the Shop Generator the product manager is used to create products, categories, upload images, link product etc. |
| Product Manager Settings (Shop Settings | General Settings) | These variables allow the merchant to decide which type of products and derivitives they wish to sell. |
| Product Options | This switch defines whether the merchant can put product options into the product generator when creating a new product. Options could be size, colour etc. |
| Regional settings | This variables allow the merchant to set the weight format in metric or imperial and set the format the date is displayed in UK, Europe or US styles. |
| Sales/Stock Reports | This facility allows merchants to run reports of sales, specify which types of transactions to include and within a date range. A set of easy reports are also available. |
| Search Orders | This feature allows the merchant to search orders with a variety of criteria and filter the results. |
| Secure SSL images | This feature allows the merchant to upload elements of their website to our secure server. This is useful when for instance, the cart pages need to have your own images on. By referencing the images to download from our server, the 'Display insecure items?' warning will not appear and the padlock in the browser bar will be retained. |
| Select Template | This allows the merchant to choose from one of the GetCarted ready made templates. After choice, the template can thenbe modified. Please be careful, choosing a template will overwrite previous customisations. |
| Select URL tax mode | This variable defines whether tax status can be defined from adding products to cart using the URL method. |
| Shipping Types | This subsection allows different shipping methods to be specified and edited. |
| Shop Default Currency | Each shop needs to have a default currency in order to trade. It is the currency the items are sold in. Additonal currencies maybe displayed next to it for information. |
| Shop Details (Shop settings | General Settings) | The details entered on this section form part of the online shop and are used in correspondance to the customers. The email address entered is used as the FROM address when emails are sent to your customers and the postal address is used on printable invoices and packing label sheets. |
| Shop Diagnostics | Briefly shows on summary page if any problems are present in the configuration of the online shop. |
| Shop Language | The language in which the cart pages appear to the customer |
| Shop Name | This name is entered when creating a new shop. It appears on the cart pages and the confirmation emails. It can be edited from Shop Settings | General Settings in the merchant admin area. |
| Shop settings | This section in the merchant admin area is responsible for all aspects of how the business of the shop runs such as shipping, taxes etc. |
| Shop Tax and Weight settings | The merchant can alter the way the business of the shop works in terms of Tax and whether or not the shipping method uses weight. |
| Shop URL Address | The website of the address. This is used in some links from the template and cart pages and is also used on emails to customers and some printable documents. |
| Show or Hide taxes in cart | Decides whether the user can see detailed taxes in the shopping cart per item. |
| Summary | The information page displaying shop information, overall order totals and diagnostics. You arrive on this page after logging in. |
| Tax Band | Up to 6 tax bands can be set. Each product can have one of these. This allows for zero rated and low rated products. Tax bands can be set on billing address or shipping address to allow for jurisdictional issues in tax exemptions. |
| Tax Bands not defined | This implies that either tax is off or specific tax bands have not been specified in the tax section. In this case all taxes will be one fixed amount (such as 17.5% for VAT) |
| Tax Mode | Select from three options: Tax is off - Tax is not calculated and product prices do not include it Product prices include tax (tax is calculated from total amount) Product prices do not include tax (tax is calculated and added on top) |
| Template | The shop generator integration has a range of templates in different colour schemes that users can choose and customise. A user can simply redesign their site instantly by changing template. In the simple integration method, the colours of the cart pages can also be set by template easily. |
| Terms & Conditions URL | This is the link which sits next to 'Tick here to accept the terms and conditions' box on the personal details form of a customer placing an order. When clicked it opens into a popup window. |
| Use downloadable products | This option allows the user to sell a digital downloadable product. Upon purchase the customer will be given a URL to download the product. |
| Use product discounts | This option controls whether customers can benefit from discounts on multiple products. |
| Use Product Serials | This option allows a merchant to provide a serial number to each customer that has purchased a downloadable product. |
| Username | The unique name you use when logging into the GetCarted system. Each account can have multiple usernames with different admin permissions. The overall master username for each account cannot be changed once specified at signup. |
| Weight format | Select which unit you wish to calculate weight in. |
| Weight mode | Select whether weight is off completely or weight is calculated and shown, or calculated but not shown. |
